For seasoned sea kayakers seeking an adventure that challenges their abilities and provides a gratifying sense of fatigue, a comprehensive journey along the Chagres River with a small group will be highly rewarding from start to finish.

At the northern end of the river, where it approaches the Atlantic Ocean, a dam creates Gatun Lake, the primary expanse of the Panama Canal. While you navigate the waters of Gatun Lake, you"ll hear the thunderous calls of howler monkeys from the extensive jungle to your left and catch glimpses of massive vessels from a secure distance on your right. Along your journey, you’ll rest as a guest in the huts of indigenous Embera tribes and wilderness camps.
