One of the main attraction to the Golf
of Chiriqui is its nearly 15,000 hectare National Marine Park. Protecting
25 islands, coral reefs and an abundance of fish and wildlife, this
Park offers many wonderful snorkeling and SCUBA diving opportunities.
Isla Parida
2,000-hectare Isla Parida is reacheable by water taxi from the Port
of Pedregal. Las Paridas ISland Resort (774-8166) can arrange snorkeling
and diving tours.
Isla Boca Brava
Reachable by water taxi from Boca Chica. The Restaurant and Cabinas
Boca Brava can arrrange snorkeling and SCUBA diving tours.
Playa Las Lajas
Located 62km east of David (1 1/2 hour), Playa Las Lajas is the beginning
of several beautiful beaches on this stretch of the Pacific Coast. Although
popular during the week-end, many of them are virtually deserted during
the week.
