PARTNERS WANTED FOR ECOLODGE - BOCAS ISLA, BLUFF BEACH

We are in process of developing an ecolodge at Punta Bluff, just 4 ½ miles from Bocas del Toro. The facility is located on a uniquely beautiful piece of property which includes a 1/3 mile of oceanfront. The primary facility, called Casa Azul sits on top the Bluff and can be seen from all directions. This building is 12,000 sq. ft. with 6 rooms with bath and three kitchens.

There are also two cabins with kitchen and bath perched above the ocean and connected to Casa Azul's water and electric system. At present the facility can handle 12 to 20 guests. Not quite finished is a additional two-bedroom apartment on the ground floor of Casa Azul.

There is a lot of room for expansion. There is another house on the beach north of Casa Azul. It is owned by another partner and can be used as a rental for most of the year. Adjacent, and on the South side of this property is another property available. This property has 4 main building areas, that we have preliminary classified as follows: 1) has a 30,000 gallon water tank, the foundation of a building planned for a restaurant and additional lodging upstairs, 2) is a large flat area which would ultimately hold a small "conference center" with room to conduct seminars for up to 40 people and a library and ecological studies laboratory on the second floor, 3) another flat area good for a residence, and 4) the last flat area, partially developed with the frame of a 2-story house. This house could be additional lodging, surfer style, or another residence. These last two parcels #3 and 4) are for sale right now, and we would certainly consider selling one or both to our future partners if they are still available.

Future plans include up to 10 more cabins sprinkled throughout the two properties.

We are looking for partners to help develop this facility. At present, we need a partner to live at the Casa Azul facility and rent out the rooms and cabins for short or long-term guests. The partner will need to manage the solar and water systems as well as take care of the guests needs. The partner must have vision and commitment to the entire project which ultimately will be called the Punta Bluff Sustainable Living Learning Center. Eventually we will fill the rooms with guests staying for one or two weeks to participate in stimulating seminars with themes such as learning Spanish, local plants and foods, creative writing, local ecology and other sustainable living techniques.

We are professional biologists with a vision and a beautiful place at Punta Bluff. The partner we need must enjoy people, have a good work ethic, lots of vision, and be very flexible. These attributes are more important at this point than a partner with capital to help develop the facility, however, some working capital to help develop services is welcome. Spanish-speaking a plus!. Our immediate goal is to start providing quality ecolodge experiences for guests, enjoy the beauty of this unique property and then start moving toward the long-term vision of a sustainable life learning center.
